Styrofoam Trays
Hard Trays vs. Styrofoam For Schools
A debate among schools and parents has occurred for years across the country. Polystyrene, or Styrofoam, trays are used in many schools today. The foam lunch trays are cheap and biodegradable alternatives are more expensive. Schools use Styrofoam trays instead of washable lunch trays to cut back on the costs of crew and because the trays can be thrown away, leaving little mess and labor behind. Some parents have taken up movements in their schools to go "green" and try to recycle the trays, which is difficult.
